Footloose comes to The Kennedy Center in an all-new semi-staged concert production, running October 9–14, 2019.
This high-energy Footloose Kennedy Center 2019 production features the Oscar®- and Tony®-nominated score packed with iconic songs including “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” and the title track “Footloose.” Directed by Tony Award® winner Walter Bobbie, the musical brings new life to the beloved story.
When rebellious teenager Ren McCormack (played by J. Quinton Johnson) moves from Chicago to a small Texas town where dance and rock music are forbidden, he challenges both the law and Reverend Shaw Moore to help the community rediscover joy — culminating in a long-awaited senior prom.
The cast includes Isabelle McCalla as Ariel Moore, Michael Park as Reverend Shaw Moore, Rebecca Luker as Vi Moore, and Judy Kuhn as Ethel McCormack.
The ensemble also features Michele Lee alongside Joshua Logan Alexander, Peter McPoland, Michael Mulheren, Lena Owens, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz, Rema Webb, and others.
