Knots Landing debuted on CBS in 1979 and ran for 14 seasons, becoming one of the longest-running primetime dramas in U.S. television history. A spin-off of Dallas, the series followed the lives of residents on Seaview Circle and became known for its layered storytelling and memorable characters.
Created by David Jacobs, the show evolved from an earlier concept that was initially rejected by CBS before the success of Dallas allowed it to be reimagined as a spin-off series.
